Shoot day 1: On the first day of my shoot i was in the studio. In the studio i set up the studio lighting to go off in time with the camera to allow the model to be well lit up and visible. I also had the model stand in front of a white background when taking the photos. The photos i took on day one was full face photos of both Millie and Rachel and also close up photos of there eyes. In my opinion i don’t think day one was successful due to me not liking any of the en results of the photos. This helped me learn what to do different with the photos for the next shoot with things such as lighting and focus. An issue that occured on this day is that the lighting wouldn’t shoot in time with the camera causing the photos to appear dark and unfocused making them unusable to use in my final photos.
Shoot day 2: On the second day of the shoot i had a more successful day. I was able to take more photos in the studio with Millie and Rachel. On this day we managed to sort out the issues with the camera and i was also able to take more successful photos that i will be using as my final photos. I took photos of close up features of both Millie and Rachel’s face. The photos i took were close up of their lips and side profile as well as a medium close up of their full face.
Shoot day 3: On the final shoot day i took the last of m photos. The photos i took on this day was more close up photos of Millies an Rachel’s eye which i think were my most successful photos due to the detail that can be seen in them. I also took mid shot photos of both Millie and Rachel so i can have shots that show the identity of both of them to help fit with the brief.
Once i had completed all my shoot days i looked at all my photos as a whole and decided which photos i wanted to use to present my work. Once i had chosen them i then edited the photos in lightroom to help the details on the photos to be more visible and to pop to make them eye catching.
When completing my project one of the main things that went well was that i was able to plan and produce my photos effectively and have then shot the way i wanted them too. This can mainly be seen in the photos of the eyes i took due to them showing great and clear detail of the eyes. Producing my research was also successful as it allowed me to discover new ideas and to also develop my ideas further. One of the things that wasn’t very successful when producing my work is that i wasn’t able to take as many photos as i wanted with different models. I overcame this issue by using the photos i shot in the studio with 2 different models. A practical problem i faced when shooting my photos is the lights not working in time with the camera and also the photos being over exposed. I overcame this issue by sing a new camera to fix the lighting issue and also changing the iso and shutter speed on the camera so less light is being let in so the photos don’t appear over exposed.
Overall i believe my project was successful based on the aims i wanted to achieve as well as successful in representing and showing identity of one or more people.
